Florida · Refill access
Your regular doctor is unavailable in Florida
If your regular doctor is away or cannot be reached, first ask the pharmacy about remaining refills, a transfer or a permissible emergency supply. If none applies, an independent $39 telehealth review may be an option for an established non-controlled medication.
Start with your pharmacy
Ask for any active refills, available transfers and whether Florida emergency-supply provisions apply. Pharmacists must assess individual requirements; it is not automatic.
What the reviewer needs
Have your medication label, dose, last fill date, recent readings or laboratory tests and reason the prescriber is unavailable. The reviewer may need a phone or video encounter.
Red flags requiring in-person care
New or worsening symptoms, pregnancy-related concerns, a complicated medication plan or missing critical tests can make remote continuation inappropriate. The fee pays for review, not a guaranteed prescription.
Common questions
Is a prescription guaranteed?
No. A clinician decides whether an established non-controlled prescription can safely be continued.
Can I use a Florida pharmacy?
Yes, if a prescription is clinically appropriate; pharmacy charges are separate.
What if I have an emergency?
Call 911 or seek an emergency department; this is not emergency care.
