Jardiance or Farxiga refill online in Florida
Already taking Jardiance or Farxiga? If you're physically in Florida, a Florida-registered telehealth physician can review a request to continue it for $39. If it's safe to continue, the prescription goes to the Florida pharmacy you choose.
About Jardiance or Farxiga
Jardiance (empagliflozin) and Farxiga (dapagliflozin) are SGLT2 inhibitors. They make the kidneys pass extra sugar into the urine. They're used for type 2 diabetes and, for some people, for heart failure or chronic kidney disease even without diabetes. Invokana (canagliflozin) and combination pills such as Synjardy, Xigduo XR and Glyxambi are related.
What the physician reviews before refilling
- Why it was prescribed and who manages that condition
- Your kidney function test and A1C if you have diabetes
- Genital yeast infections or urinary infections
- Dizziness or signs of dehydration
- Diuretics (water pills), insulin or sulfonylureas
- Any planned surgery or procedure
Safety points
- Ketoacidosis can happen even when blood sugar isn't very high. Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, unusual tiredness or trouble breathing need urgent care.
- These medicines are usually stopped at least 3 days before scheduled surgery. Tell your surgeon and anesthesiologist.
- Genital yeast infections are common; good hygiene helps. Rarely, a serious infection of the genital area can occur: pain, swelling or redness there with fever needs urgent care.
Florida tips
- Because SGLT2 inhibitors pull extra water out with the sugar, dehydration and dizziness come faster on hot days, during outdoor work or with a stomach bug. If you can't keep fluids down, ask a clinician whether to pause it until you can.
- Read Florida heat and your medications for more.
Cost
Jardiance and Farxiga are brand-name medicines and can be expensive without coverage. We don't bill insurance, but your pharmacy can run the prescription through your own plan. Ask about the manufacturer's savings program and whether a lower-cost equivalent is available.
Questions about Jardiance or Farxiga
I take Farxiga or Jardiance for heart failure, not diabetes. Can you refill it?
We can review it, but heart failure and kidney treatment plans should stay coordinated with your cardiologist or kidney specialist. The physician may ask for recent records or labs.
Why do I keep getting yeast infections on Jardiance?
Extra sugar in the urine makes yeast infections more likely. Tell the physician; keeping the area clean and dry helps, and repeated infections may mean another medicine is a better fit.
Do I stop Jardiance or Farxiga before surgery?
Usually yes, at least 3 days before a scheduled surgery, to lower the risk of ketoacidosis. Your surgical team will tell you when to stop and restart.
