Short answer: Yes, if you already take Ozempic and you're physically in Florida. For $39, Nicholas Atudonyang, MD, a physician with Florida telehealth registration TPME8031, reviews your current dose, your last injection date, your A1C, side effects and safety history. If continuing is safe, the prescription goes to the Florida pharmacy you choose. We don't prescribe compounded semaglutide.

About Ozempic

Ozempic is semaglutide, a once-weekly GLP-1 injection for adults with type 2 diabetes. Its FDA-approved uses also include lowering the risk of major heart events in people with type 2 diabetes and heart disease, and slowing kidney disease in people with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease. Wegovy contains the same medicine but is a different product with different doses and uses; Rybelsus is a semaglutide tablet.

What the physician reviews before refilling

  • Your current dose and pen strength, and your last injection date
  • Your last A1C and how your glucose is running
  • Nausea, vomiting, constipation or stomach pain
  • Any history of pancreatitis or gallbladder disease
  • Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2
  • Pregnancy or plans for pregnancy
  • Insulin or sulfonylureas, which raise the risk of lows
  • Diabetic eye disease

Safety points

  • Severe stomach pain that may spread to the back, with or without vomiting, can be pancreatitis and needs urgent care.
  • Ozempic isn't used by anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2.
  • The label advises stopping at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
  • Tell any surgeon or anesthesiologist that you take a GLP-1 before a procedure.
Get urgent care for severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration or a severe allergic reaction.

Florida tips

  • Follow the storage directions on your exact product's label. Never leave pens in a hot car, a beach bag or direct sun. If a hurricane knocks out power and your medicine needs refrigeration, ask your pharmacist what to do before using it.
  • Nausea and reduced appetite plus Florida heat can dehydrate you quickly. Sip fluids through the day, and contact a clinician if you can't keep fluids down.

Cost

Ozempic is a brand-name medicine and is expensive without coverage. Many plans cover it for type 2 diabetes. We don't bill insurance, but your pharmacy can run the prescription through your plan; also check the manufacturer's current savings options.

Questions about Ozempic

Can I get Ozempic for weight loss only?

Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes. For weight management, the semaglutide product approved for that use is Wegovy. This service continues the FDA-approved product you already use; starting a new one needs a fuller evaluation.

I missed some Ozempic doses. Can I restart at my usual dose?

Missed-dose rules are specific to each product, so check your label or ask your pharmacist. Tell the physician your last injection date; after a long gap, restarting at a lower dose may be safer.

Do you prescribe compounded semaglutide?

No. We review FDA-approved GLP-1 products only.
