Rosuvastatin refill online in Florida
Already taking rosuvastatin? If you're physically in Florida, a Florida-registered telehealth physician can review a request to continue it for $39. If it's safe to continue, the prescription goes to the Florida pharmacy you choose.
About Rosuvastatin
Rosuvastatin (Crestor) is a high-potency statin that lowers LDL cholesterol and reduces cardiovascular risk. It's taken once a day at any time.
What the physician reviews before refilling
- Your dose and last dose
- Your last cholesterol panel
- Kidney function: severe kidney disease limits the dose
- Muscle aches, weakness or dark urine
- Asian ancestry: blood levels tend to run higher, so lower doses are often used
- Cyclosporine, gemfibrozil, some HIV medicines and warfarin
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Safety points
- Muscle pain with weakness and dark urine is rare but needs urgent evaluation.
- Aluminum- and magnesium-containing antacids (such as Maalox or Mylanta) lower absorption. Take them at least two hours after rosuvastatin.
- If you take warfarin, an INR check is usually needed when a statin is started or its dose changes.
Florida tips
- Unlike some statins, rosuvastatin isn't meaningfully affected by grapefruit.
- If you split time between Florida and another state, use one pharmacy chain or transfer the prescription so your refill history stays in one place.
Cost
The $39 covers the physician review. You pay for rosuvastatin separately at your pharmacy. Generic versions are usually much cheaper than brand names; ask for the cash price or use a free discount card. We don't bill insurance, but your pharmacy can run the prescription through your own plan.
Questions about Rosuvastatin
Is rosuvastatin stronger than atorvastatin?
Milligram for milligram, rosuvastatin lowers LDL more, but both are effective. The right one depends on your goals, other conditions and how you tolerate it. The physician reviews the statin you already take.
Can I take rosuvastatin with antacids?
Yes, with timing. Take aluminum or magnesium antacids at least two hours after rosuvastatin. Acid reducers such as famotidine or omeprazole don't need that spacing.
My rosuvastatin dose is 40 mg. Is that a problem?
40 mg is the highest dose and is used for people who need large LDL reductions. The physician reviews why you're on it, your labs and any muscle symptoms before continuing.
